SCARAB Load Controller
The SCARAB PID controller is a dedicated digital controller designed to regulate load horsepower by controlling the speed of hydraulically operated mobile equipment. As the load pressure changes, the machine speed is changes to maintain a constant load. If the hydraulic load pressure increases due to heavy loading, the controller reduces the power required by the drive system. Factory parameters for several different machines can be programmed into the controller's memory. These values must be programmed at the factory.

One of the primary advantages of the SCARAB machines is the uniquely effective SCARAB load controller equipped on every machine. The load controller is a link between the Power Unit and the Drive System. Designed to respond to changes in drum load demand, the SCARAB load controller slows the machines forward rate of travel, without input from the operator, if it encounters loads greater than the set point. Rather than being triggered by damaging engine droop, as are the "load controllers" of other manufacturers, the SCARAB system prevents engine overload from occurring in the first place. In the SCARAB, engine speed is held constant (within
+/- 75 rpm in a properly sized windrow), and power is instantly transferred when and where it is needed without the stressful surge and stop routine common to other machines.
We are proud to announce that SCARAB has the industry's only limited lifetime warranty on the processing drum against breakage of the flail brackets and the drum shafts.
