SCARAB

SCARAB derived its name from the Egyptian Scarabaeus Sacer, or "SCARAB Beetle", held sacred by the Egyptians as the symbol of immortality and fertility, which patiently rolls a ball of waste across a field, then buries itself within the ball, consumes it and emerges to begin the process anew.

For nearly twenty-five years Scarab has realized the need for finding a safe, economical and efficient means for handling organic waste material. Scarab traces its beginning back to the early 70's when confronted by a local feedlot to find a means for managing the manure and bedding produced by the feedlot. This gave rise to the first SCARAB composting machine.

Building on the success of the first SCARAB (pictured) built in about 1972 for the local feedlot, SCARAB continues to improve on the machines and find new applications for the machines. SCARABs can now be found processing in applications from manure to yard waste to tougher applications such as waste water treatment plants and more recently soil remediation.

With the increase necessity for finding alternative methods for handling the waste stream in order to divert it from the dwindling landfills, composting has proven to be an efficient and effective method. Composting of the waste material helps speed up the natural decomposition process and produces a beneficial final product that can be reused as soil amendments.

SCARAB is committed to producing the finest machine available for composting of the organic material. We realize that the composting machine is the central point of any composting facility, so the facility operator can not afford to have the machine broken down. This is the reason SCARAB builds the machines to handle the toughest of operating conditions. SCARAB stands out as the leader of composting machines for a number of reasons, some are very apparent while others are features built into the machine that are not as obvious.
